Opportunities for Christ

MEMORIALS - Do you know that our church has a Memorial Fund? This is a way for anyone to donate in memory of those who have gone on before us. If you wish to donate to this, just write your check to the church, and note “Memorial for ________________”. This is very special way to honor our loved one.

Military people serving our country really need our support and encouragement. Capt. Wes Gornall and all those others serving with him want to know “we are with them.” Following is a list of items that are their needs:

  • soap and conditioner
  • razor blades / disposable shavers
  • beef jerky
  • red licorice & hard candy
  • 1.00 bills (U.S.)
  • AA batteries
  • homemade cookies (chocolate chip & others).

A “touch of home” when our solders are serving in the military so far away is so greatly appreciated. They need to know we are thinking of them – our thoughts and prayers, cards and notes, as well as needed items. There is a box in the narthex for any needs you can supply. Thank you for your help to them.

FLOWER CALENDAR
THE FLOWER CALENDAR FOR 2009 has been placed on the wall in the narthex. You may sign up now if you would like to place flowers on the altar on a special Sunday or for a special occasion. There are many Sundays open for altar arrangements, so choose the Sunday you want!

FAMILY ASSISTANCE
Christ UMC has a special fund called “The Family Assistance Fund.” Monies are expended from this account when members have unexpected emergencies. From time to time we need to replenish monies by contributions from members, above and beyond their usual offerings. If you would like to contribute to this fund indicate the extra donation to go to “The Family Assistance Fund.” Warren Heffron, Chair of Family Assistance Fund Committee

R & R
Our Rejoicing and Renewal Service continues to meet every Wednesday night at 7 pm.  It’s an informal time of sharing singing, prayer, and faith.  This worship service has a steady and growing following.  Over the years this worship service has grown and changed.  You are invited to come celebrate God’s presence each week as this worship service continues to evolve and provide a time to connect to God through fellowship, silence, and sharing.
R & R is also looking for people to serve in worship.  We need people to help with music and running media.  There are also opportunities for members to share prayers and devotions.  Contact Pastor Kim for more information
