The servers carpool from the church about 4:30 p.m. Sign-up sheets will be in the narthex on Sunday mornings if you can help in some area. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations worldwide through simple, gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. The collection deadline date for boxes is November 8th. Please be sure that your Operation Christmas Child boxes are in by that date. The boxes will be gathered from the donating areas and gotten ready for mailing the following week. ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS HONDURAS MISSION TEAM SPECIAL NOTE: If you have luggage you no longer need, please donate it to the Honduras Mission Team. We will each carry a suitcase with medical supplies, construction tools, or material for sewing. THE WORLD THANK OFFERING is an opportunity for individuals to respond to God’s abundance and grace with spontaneous gifts of gratitude. You may bring your coins and/or currency in a zip-lock to small groups (include your name) or write a check to Christ UMW with WTO designated on the memo line. You may also place your donations in Box #8, UMW Treasurer, in the church office prior to Nov. 23rd. SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS – The children’s Sunday School now has regular attendance. We have had as many as 10 children on one Sunday! The older children are learning the Old Testament lesson that when the people of Israel obeyed God, God blessed them, and when they didn’t obey God, things did not go well at all! The younger children have been learning the lessons Jesus taught such as being fishers of men, the Beatitudes, and following Jesus. Thank you to all the volunteers who will cover John and Ruth’s upcoming absences – we had more offers to help than there were open Sundays! We appreciate all the support that the CUMC family has offered as this program gets started.
