President's Message More rain--even snow--well into April has made for delightfully moist conditions this Spring. The April 16th excursion into the Sandias (announced in the last Mycorizon and detailed at www.mycowest.org) was a treat. Streams in the various canyons were flowing vigorously, and not a few edible ascomycetes greeted us along the trail. This seems to be one of those seasons which beckon us to visit the woods. More good news is that the Foray Committee has has confirmed a time and place for this year's Foray: 11-14 August in Ruidoso. Addition details are presently sparse, but will be available soon at www.mycowest.org and by future printed announcements. Visiting the mountains near Ruidoso will be new for many of us, and I'm looking forward to spending time in that area. Terri & I will be visiting La Crosse, Wisconsin this July for the Annual NAMA Foray. These are wonderful events to attend, and I hope that New Mexico will have a good representation this year. NAMA Forays abound with opportunities to see new fungi, increase one's mycological knowledge, and visit with a really good group of people. David Wallis 21apr05
