'Once A Thief' was John Woo's 1996 remake of his own Hong Kong action movie, this one starring Nicolas Lea, Ivan Sergei, and Sandrine Holt.
I call this 'John Woo Lite'. Easily palatable tv-movie fare with a twist,
a hint of that *thing* that makes John Woo films exciting. Marvelously
entertaining and engaging. The chemistry / love-traingle and tension
between the three leads is great, the characters and cheeky element of
humor and playfulness makes this movie. That element that makes action
films great. The character-driven element, and action element - I mean,
if you're going to watch 90's television, it should at least be something
quite cool.
