ANNOUNCEMENT!

  • Teacher Appreciation Week: This week is Teacher Appreciation week at Salam Academy. Please encourage your students to show their appreciation for the hard work the teachers put in every day. This can be done with a thank you, a gift made by the student, a handmade card from the student, etc. We value what our teachers do and we need to tell them and show them. Everyone who signed up to bring food for the teachers on Friday, please make sure that you have it at the school by 12 pm Friday.
  • The Salam Academy PTO will meet Friday (2/1/13) morning at 8:30 am immediately following assembly. Please plan to join us for this meeting. This is your community school and it will only be successful through our combined efforts.

PTO officers 2012-2013:

Salam Alaikum, Parents play a very important part in their children's education.  It is essential that parents have a voice in the education that their children are getting.  One way to do this is to participate in the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).  We are currently looking for parents to serve as leaders and reenergize the PTO.  The following positions are open:

President - runs all PTO meetings and oversees committees working on PTO projects

Vice-President - steps in when the President is unable to run the PTO meetings, assists the President in overseeing committees

Secretary - takes minutes at all meetings, does all PTO board correspondence

Treasurer - takes care of all financial transactions for the PTO

If you are interested in any of these positions or know someone who is, please contact me at the email or talk to me at the Salam Academy office.  We also need volunteers to help on all committees of the PTO.  If you are interested, please contact me.
