You were barely out of diapers when she died -

That doesn't add up.
If he was barely out of diapers, he wouldn't have the cognitive ability, the
conceptualization to work out that his mother died for a reason, and subsequently
to blame his father for her death.  That kind of thing comes later in life.

*That makes no sense at all!*  He should be a teen, maybe a 7-8 year old, 
to be able to conceptualize, to work out something like this.
