This Memory Book is presented with the thought that it may be a comfort to you in coming years. Jule Runner, Belington, West Virginia.
They that love beyond the world can not be separated by it. Death can not kill what never dies. Death is but crossing the world as loved ones do seas; the live in one another still.
This is the comfort of everyone; that tho’ they may be said to die, yet their love and devotion are, in the best sense, ever present because immortal.
Sunset and evening star,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep
Twilight and evening bell!
For though from out our bourne of time and place
Crossing The Bar
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar
When I put out to sea.
Too full for sound or foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell
When I embark.
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.

The lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.The Twenty-third Psalm
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shal follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

In my Father’s house are many mansions;
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you. And if
I go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again and receive you unto myself. -- John 14:2,3

I know not what the future hath
And if my heart and flesh are weak
And so, beside the silent sea,
I know not where His islands liftThe Eternal Goodness
of marvel or surprise
Assured alone that life and death
His mercy underlies.
To bear an untried pain,
The bruised reed He will not break,
But strengthen and sustain.
I wait with muffled oar;
Nor harm from Him can come to me
On ocean or on shore.
Their fronded palms in air;
I only know I cannot drift
Beyond His love and care.
The quality of mercy is not strained;
Mercy
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath; it is twice blest. --
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes:
‘Tis mightiest of the mightiest; it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crowns
His sceptre shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
But mercy is above this sceptred sway, --
It is enthroned in the hearts of kings,
It is an attribute to God himself;
And earthly power doth then show likest God's,
When mercy seasons justice.
Transition
So live that when thy summons comes to join
The innumerable caravan, which moves
To that mysterios realm where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not like the quarry slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave
Like one who wraps the draperis of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.
Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
I fear no foe with Thee at hand to bless:
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes:
Abide With Me
Abide with Me? Fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens: Lord, with me abide!
When other helpers fail, and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me!
Earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou, who changest not, abide with me!
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness,
Where is Death’s sting? Where, Grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies:
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life and death, O Lord, abide with me!

I was not ever thus, nor prayed that though
So long thy power hath blest me, sure it still
Lead, Kindly Light
Lord, Kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom,
Lead thou me on!
The night is dark and I am far from home –
Lead thou me on!
Keep thou my feet; I do not ask to
The distant scene – on step enough for me.
Shouldst lead me on.
I loved to choose and see my path; but now
Lead thou me on!
I loved the garish day and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will; remember not past years.
Will lead me on,
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till
The night is gone;
And with the morn those angel faces smile
Which I have loved long since and
lost a while.
