Notes: Who was Robert C. Dilley b 1765 (1850 census)? Probably not father of Martin and Henry.

Martin Dilley had 2 sons in 1810 census, but lost 1 before 1820 when he had only 6 dependents including an elderly couple of unknown names. By 1840, he had only 6 dependents including an older couple with unknown names. Martin died in 1852 but lived to be included in the 1850 census with Rebecca & no dependents. Apparently, Martin and Henry each had sons named John which is not surprising if John & Catherine Dilley of Shenandoah Co. were their parents.
