Letter From John E. Buchanan Of Madison, In

I am enclosing a picture of Martha Dilley, my great-grandmother. If you would like to share in the cost of reproducing from the original (on glass in a gold folding case)! it was $2 per picture. I have yet to obtain an- information on the parent of Martin Dilley and wife Hannah Moore. Have you been fortunate enough to run across them? Got to close for now.

Letter To Mrs. Reeder From Mrs James H. Ward

  7 Aug 1964

 Mrs. Reeder

I am wondering how your are getting along on your Dilley family record. Why don’t You send me a complete outline of your Dilley & Fitzer families and all others connected. I just might be able to fill in some of those vacant spots. Do your notes connect with Fletchers, Goldens, Alfords, Blankenships, Ecklands, and maybe other families.

Barnett and Abner were Brothers!

I expect to take pictures of graves of Abner Dilley and Markin graves as soon as I can get back to the cemetery. They are buried very near all of my people. It was too late for pictures when I found the graves on Memorial Day

I will see if I can find some pictures from some of the family. I know many of the Lawrence Co., people who might help. MY trouble is time as I help here in the office and since we have one car and I do not drive, I have to go to see these people on week ends.

I have an old atlas, 1882. The maps are of each township and the families who lived in that section are on the maps. In Your Fitzer family there are 3 or 4 names. Of the Dilley name, the names of all my grand- and great-grand-parents are there. It is a very interesting book. The atlas was given to me a few weeks ago, and I have looked at it a lot. Someone paid $l5 for one like it at a junk shop just recently.

You can let me know what you have on these people and I might be able to help you some. Did you ever find anything on the Dean family? I am still working on the Allen line; so far have them back to my great, great, grandfather. I am anxious to work farther back but so far have come to a stop-point.

I am hoping to hear from you.
