NEW MEMBERSHIP YEAR - DUES DUEARFHS dues are due in March, but we are not too proud to take payment in advance! This helps us calculate how many members we will have when it is time to mail the March issue of the journal. This is the last issue you will receive before it is time to renew.
Cover PhotoGideon Draper Camden was a son of Rev. Henry Camden and a brother of Lenox Camden whose Civil War era home was at the sight of the new Elkins High School.
From the EditorIt has been brought to my attention that some folks have submitted articles etc. or queries for the journal and that these have not ran. For this I apologize! I have not intentionally ignored anyone. But there is a black hole of correspondence and paper on my desk. Some day I'll clean it up and find Amelia Earhart. Anyway, if I missed someone please notify me and send your material again - you are important to the group! -from the Editor
STALNAKER HOUSE MOVEDThe old Stalnaker log cabin formerly located on the east side of Route 219 opposite the Bruce Hardwood Floors plant, south of Beverly, has now been moved and is partly re-assembled on the back lot of the Randolph County Historical Society museum building in Beverly. We commend the Historical Society for the preservation of this fine example of pioneer architecture.
It is known that several members are interested in the Stalnaker family. Would anyone want to submit some history of this old house for a future journal?????
