HARRIS PHILLIPS COONTZ: In the article First Church in Barbour County Established at Meadowville in 1795 (ARA Summer 1997) a Simeon Harris is mentioned. I am researching a Simeon Harris through my husband's side of the family and think he is possibly the son of the above Simeon. My Simeon married 1846 in Barbour County to Sarah Phillips. BECKWITH: Keziah BECKWITH died in 1802 in Montgomery County, Md., and left a will naming among others her daughter Ann Williams. This Ann had married Thomas Swearingen Williams about 1790. Who was Keziah Beckwith's husband? What was her maiden name? Was her husband any relation to Basil Beckwith of Montgomery County?
CARPENTER in McCLELLANDS RIFLES: Nicholas CARPENTER (German name Zimmerman) was a resident of Frederick County, MD in 1772, just before moving to West Virginia. Family members say that in 1764 this Nicholas Carpenter was in Captain McClelland's Rifle Company of Frederick County militia. Can anyone tell me where I could find a list of the men in McClelland's Rifle Company in that year?
RAWLINGS/McGILL: Elijah RAWLINGS married Elizabeth McGill in 1778 in Prince Georges County, Md. They are the possible parents of Catherine ROLLINS who married Samuel Warner near Buckhannon, West Virginia a generation later. Would like to exchange information with RAWLINGS family researchers.SHEPHERD: John SHEPHERD, born circa 1735, married Sarah ???. He died in 1802 in Hardy County, WV. He had an apparent son Jonathan Shepherd born c1760, enlisted in Moses Rawlings Rifles 1775 while living in Old Town, Allegheny County, Md. Who are the relatives of John and Jonathan Shepherd? Seek information on the John Shepherd who died in Frederick County, MD in 1765 and the John Shepherd who died in 1726 and left children named John, Nathan and William in Frederick County.
