Seeking information on the children of George W. Currence and Rebecca (Tenney) Currence. George and Rebecca were married January 3, 1858 in Upshur Co., WV. Their daughters most likely were born in Upshur County. Rebecca was the daughter of Philo Tenny and Rebecca Casto.

George and Rebecca's Children were: LORRETA, born 1863; JOANNA, born 1866, she married John Allen Bartlett on Feb. 2, 1884 and they had 8 children in Barbour Co., WV; REBECCA (aka Becky?), horn 1858-1865, who married, and moved to Colorado and then to Arizona; THANKY, born 1858-1865, and MINNIE, horn 1858-1865.

One of the daughters married, EMMIT CHENOWETH, and had at least one daughter, named 'Bessie or Vissie' Chenoweth. Was this daughter, Loretta? There may have been other daughters, names unknown.

DORSEY CURRENCE, born February 12, 1889, was the child of George W. Currence and FRANCES A. BARTLETT. Dorsey was born out-of-wedlock. His mother, Frances A. Bartlett was the sister of John Allen Bartlett (Joanna Currence's husband). Dorsey always referred to his "many sisters;" his birth making the total siblings numbered at eleven children. Dorsey was the only son, according to Dorsey. Where was Frances Bartlett buried? At the Chenoweth Graveyard or the United Methodist Church? When was the date of her death?

Would also like to know how GLEN CURRENCE, was related to Dorsey Currence and Joanna (Currence) Bartlett? After 1900, Glen Currence used to visit Joanna Bartlett on her farm in Belington, WV.
