DEtox CONCERNS IN LIPID STORAGE DISEASE
Detoxification, similarly, may be counterproductive in individuals with certain lipid storage diseases, such as genetic ones, whether one uses food grade diatomaceous earth or other chelating and metabolically active substances (such as lipoic acid) to remove the toxic blocks that are poisoning lipid metabolism. Allowing a genetically imbalanced metabolic pathway to function may be worse than having that pathway poisoned. In other words, when lipid metabolism is poisoned in individuals with lipid storage diseases, the lipid composition of the body may be easier to control through diet. The trick in these diseases is to carefully maintain a balance with the least intrusive method possible so that compliance is optimized and the maximum health benefit is realized.
