The Worm was an application that Trina Roy and I programmed while working as research assistants, while graduate students at The Electronic Visualization Lab at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The application ran in the CAVE. It was used as a tool to help two groups of scientists at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications in Urbanna/Chapagne Illinois. The codes were written in C, under Irix, using Irix GL and the CAVE API library.
Trina and I wrote an article, The cosmic worm, for the Jul 1994, Vol.14, Issue 4 of
IEEE Computer
Graphics and Applications.
One of our images was used for the Spring 1994
front cover of the Premier issue of IEEE Computational Science & Engineering.
