Hunter Goodman has slugged 16 home runs with 42 runs scored and 56 RBI, and Taylor Ward has 16 home runs with 45 RBI. Alex Bregman has contributed 14 home runs with 45 runs scored, and Ivan Herrera has 14 home runs with 37 runs scored in 193 at bats. Kevin Gausman is 7-5 with a 3.39 ERA, and Tyler Glasnow is 5-1 with a 2.81 ERA. Brad Keller has struggled in the closer role, saving 11 games but with a 4-5 record and 4.88 ERA. Cade Smith has fared a bit better, saving 6 games with a 2.29 ERA. 2nd - Angry Candy (44-39, 3 games behind) - Junior Caminero has been feasting at the plate, smacking 19 home runs with 49 runs scored and 61 RBI. Max Muncy is sporting a .464 on base average with 18 stolen bases, 14 home runs and 50 runs scored. Brandon Nimmo has 16 home runs with 53 RBI, and Luis V Garcia has 12 home runs, 11 stolen bases and 45 RBI. Shane Baz is 7-2 with a 3.46 ERA, and Jeffrey Springs is 8-5 with a 4.31 ERA. Jesus Luzardo has had terrible luck on the mound, sporting a 4-22 ERA but with a 3-10 record. Closer Jimmy Herget has also struggled, saving 8 games but with a 3-7 record and a 4.47 ERA. A few key pitching replacements and the Candy could find themselves vaulting into the playoffs. 3rd - San Francisco Organization (42-39, 4 games behind) - Jo Adell is finally having the season multiple teams were waiting for, blasting a league high 27 home runs with 45 runs scored and a league high 73 RBI. Kyle Stowers is hitting .279 with 19 home runs, 49 runs scored and 53 RBI, while Miguel Vargas is hitting .315 with 43 RBI. Willy Adames has 12 home runs and 49 runs scored, and Pete Alonso has 12 home runs and 47 runs scored. Nathan Eovaldi has a 2.81 ERA but just a 5-5 record. Ronny Henriquez and Matt Strahm are a combined 12-2 in relief. A solid front-line starter would bolster their playoff hopes. 4th - Fightin' Oglethorpes of Georgia (42-41, 5 games behind) - Byron Buxton is having a career year, hitting 20 home runs with 57 runs scored and 69 RBI. Jung Ho Lee is hitting .272 with 45 RBI (despite just 3 home runs!), and Matt Chapman has smacked 19 home runs with 43 runs scored and 41 RBI. TJ Friedl has a .371 on base average with 57 runs scored, and Gunnar Henderson has 16 stolen bases and 45 runs scored. Luis Severino is 7-5 with a 3.63 ERA. Orion Kerkering and JoJo Romero have combined for 12 saves, but also for a 2-5 record and ERAs above 4. Some adjustments will need to be made if the Oglethorpes are to have a chance at making the playoffs. BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR - Mechan Syndicate, Port Huron Hubris *************************************** Koufax Division - 1st - Cincinnati Rock (58-25) - Sporting the best record at the all-star break, the Rock are firing on all cylinders. Geraldo Perdomo is has a .360 on base average, 32 stolen bases and 58 runs scored, and Kyle Tucker has 16 stolen bases, 16 home runs and 51 runs scored. Christian Yelich has 10 home runs and 47 RBI. Harrison Bader has 10 home runs and 43 RBI, and Alec Bohm and Jeff McNeil have combined to drive in 80 runs. Where the Rock are really strong is in their pitching. Their 3.08 team ERA is league best. Tarik Skubal is 12-3 with a 2.76 ERA, Garrett Crochet is 8-6 with a 2.74 ERA, Freddy Peralta is 8-2 with a 3.33 ERA and Hunter Brown is 8-3 with a 3.75 ERA. Adrian Morejon has been fantastic in the closer role, saving 17 games with a 4-1 record and a 1.46 ERA. As scary as the Rock are, they could be even scarier if they acquire a few big bats for the stretch drive. 2nd - Trisolaris Droplets (50-34, 8 1/2 games behind) - The Droplets have the honor of the league's best run differential at the break (+134), the most runs scored at the break (445), as well as the 3rd best record. Maikel Garcia is hitting .283 with 10 stolen bases, 49 runs scored and 44 RBI. Mike Trout has 15 home runs, 42 runs scored and 40 RBI, and JP Crawford has a .370 on base average and 53 runs scored. Caleb Durbin has swiped 15 bases with a .367 on base average and 43 runs scored. Bryan Woo is 9-3 with a 3.56 ERA, and Drew Rasmussen is 8-5 with a 3.02 ERA. Abner Uribe has saved 14 games with a tiny 1.10 ERA. The Koufax division title is likely unreachable, but the Droplets will be seeing the post-season as a wildcard. 3rd - Fertile Crescent Ziggurats (48-34, 9 1/2 games behind) - A not-quite-worst-to-first but the rebuild has been a success, as the Ziggurats are currently sitting on a wildcard spot. Jorge Polanco has 15 home runs and 54 RBI, and Corbin Carroll has 22 stolen bases, 13 home runs, 55 runs scored and 50 RBI. Yainer Diaz has 10 home runs and 49 RBI, and Isaac Collins has a .398 on base average, 19 stolen bases and 50 runs scored. James Wood has drive in 46 runs and Jackson Chourio has 13 stolen bases and 43 runs scored. Yoshinobu Yamamoto is 7-1 with a 1.97 ERA, and Jose Soriano is 7-4 with a 3.58 ERA. Andrew Abbott is 7-3 despite a 4.66 ERA. The team has 23 saves spread across 6 pitchers, with no pitcher having more than 5. 4th - Pig's Eye Pirates (47-35, 10 1/2 games behind) - Ian Happ has provided some offense, hitting .274 with 18 home runs, 53 runs scored and 48 RBI. Trevor Story has 10 home runs, 12 stolen bases and 54 RBI, and Nico Hoerner has 15 stolen bases and 46 runs scored. Sal Frelick has scored 44 runs and swiped 16 bases. Nick Martinez is 9-3 with a 3.28 ERA, and Joe Ryan is 7-6 with a 3.42 ERA. Jhoan Duran has cleaned up on saves, saving 19 games with a 1.85 ERA. The Pirates are currently outside of a playoff spot in the league's toughest division, but an acquired bat or two would increase their chances of the post-season. 5th - Somerville Sluggers (46-37, 12 games behind) - How unlucky for the Sluggers to be succeeding this season, being 12 games behind in the tough Koufax division but with a better record than anyone in the Young division. Willson Contreras has 14 home runs and 50 RBI, and Andy Pages has 14 stolen bases, 12 home runs and 45 RBI. Randy Arozarena has 16 stolen bases and 47 runs scored. Nick Pivetta is 8-0 with a 1.94 ERA, and Shane Smith is 8-3 with a 2.69 ERA. Justin Slaten and Will Vest have combined for 21 saves, but with a combined 5-10 record and ERAs above 4. Despite being 5th in their conference, they are only 2 games out of a playoff spot, so a strong 2nd half could see them play beyond game #162. BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR - New Orleans Rougarou *************************************** Ruth Division - 1st - Miami Mangos (52-30) - One of the better teams in the conference this year, Miami is the odds on favorite to represent the conference in the CFOD World Series. Freddie Freeman has driven in 43 runs, and Brandon Lowe has 17 home runs with 43 runs scored. Bo Bichette is hitting .320 with 46 runs scored. Colson Montgomery has 14 home runs and 30 RBI in just 128 at bats. Randy Vazquez is 9-3 with a 2.79 ERA, and Cristopher Sanchez is 9-6 with a 3.34 ERA. Closer Emilio Pagan has saved 21 games with a 1.91 ERA. The team ERA of 3.33 is best in the conference. 2nd - Olympia Rainiers (48-34, 4 games behind) - Juan Soto is carrying the team on his back, smacking 15 home runs with 13 stolen bases, 50 runs scored and 47 RBI. Rafael Devers has 16 home runs, 42 runs scored and 40 RBI. Ozzie Albies has 8 home runs with 39 RBI, and Myles Straw has swiped 18 bases with 39 RBI. Janson Junk is 7-2 with a 2.50 ERA, Ryan Nelson is 7-2 with a 2.73 ERA and Mitch Keller is 7-2 with a 2.90 ERA. Braydon Fisher has saved 12 games with a 2.63 ERA. The pitching is excellent (team ERA of 3.39, 2nd best in the conference), and an acquired bat or two could help shore up their post-season chances. 3rd - California Coneheads (48-35, 4 1/2 games behind) - The Coneheads are putting up some gaudy hitting stats. Matt Olson is hitting .281 with 19 home runs, 52 runs scored and 67 RBI. Bobby Witt Jr is hitting .313 with 36 stolen bases, 16 home runs, 64 runs scored and 55 RBI. Kyle Schwarber has smacked 22 home runs with 65 runs scored and 52 RBI, while Wilyer Abreu has 16 home runs with 50 RBI. Elly De La Cruz is hitting .276 with 17 stolen bases, 12 home runs and 46 RBI. Their 439 runs scored is best in the conference. Jacob deGrom is 10-3 with a 2.97 ERA, and Ryan Yarbrough is 6-2 with a 2.45 ERA (but is nearing the end of his season). No other starter has won more than 4 games. Closer Dennis Santana has saved 16 games with a 3.44 ERA. An extra starter could see California improve their playoff position. 4th - Topeka Stingers (41-41, 11 games behind) - A bit of a long shot to make the post-season, but stranger things have happened. Josh Naylor has 12 stolen bases, 12 home runs and 47 RBI, and Wyatt Langford is hitting .285 with 12 stolen bases, 12 home runs, 44 runs scored and 41 RBI. Brice Turang is hitting .280 with 15 stolen bases and 48 runs scored. Merrill Kelly is 10-5 with a 2.72 ERA. The team has split its saves across 7 relievers, with Daniel Lynch saving 6 games in just 9 2/3 innings of relief. BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR - Slam Diego Termites, Dallas SuperSquad *************************************** Young Division - 1st - San Mateo Thunder (43-39) - At just 4 games above .500, the Thunder are presently leading the division by default. Not the fault of Aaron Judge though, one of the league's best hitters at the break, hitting .347 with 22 home runs, 72 runs scored and 60 RBI. Bryce Harper has 14 stolen bases, 15 home runs, 48 runs scored and 47 RBI, and Pete Crow-Armstrong is hitting .275 with 21 stolen bases, 13 home runs, 50 runs scored and 46 RBI. Ketel Marte has 12 home runs and 45 RBI, and Dansby Swanson has 15 home runs and 43 runs scored. Logan Webb is 9-4 with a 2.22 ERA and Matthew Liberatore is 7-2 with a 3.79 ERA, and closer Nick Mears has 15 saves and a 2.22 ERA. But pitching has been a problem for the Thunder, with a team ERA of 4.81, 4th worst in the entire league. The Thunder will need to acquire a few pitchers to maximize their chances of getting out of the first round of the playoffs. 2nd - Long Island Reds (41-42, 2 1/2 games behind) - The lackluster Young Division is ruining the Reds' rebuilding plans, as they have been thrust into division contention. Eugenio Suarez has hit 24 home runs with 42 runs scored and 44 RBI, and Shea Langeliers is hitting .285 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI. Jeremy Pena has 12 stolen bases and 44 runs scored. Mitchell Parker is 7-6 with a 3.75 ERA, and closer Jose Ferrer has saved 20 games with a 1.93 ERA. At this point it would be easier for the Reds to acquire some talent and contend than to reach the magical 95-loss mark. 3rd - Park City Climbers (38-42, 4 games behind) - Picked to win the division this year, the Climbers could still technically do that. Vladimir Guerrero Jr has been stellar, hitting .351 with 16 home runs, 52 runs scored and 66 RBI. Francisco Lindor has 13 stolen bases, 12 home runs and 44 RBI, while Manny Machado has 13 home runs, 42 runs scored and 42 RBI. Colt Keith has scored 45 runs. Starting pitching has been weak, with a 4.76 team ERA and no starter winning more than 5 games so far. Closing duties have been solid, with Robert Suarez saving 16 games with a 4-1 record and a 1.80 ERA. Some starting pitching acquired via the trade market could see Park City make the post season. BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR - San Francisco Piazza's, Tualatin Pioneers, Seattle Moshers
