18. The finish at the foot of the basket is similar to the turn at the top, but now we want to have the ends finish between the inner and outer walls. You will need three to five inches of spoke for a secure base, depending on how far apart the spokes are. The spokes may be bent to the right or the left. Depending on which direction the top turn went, you can create two different effects. One direction will make a circle with the spokes, the other will make an S or Z shape (see Fig. 20).
Bring each spoke ribbon in front of the one next to it, then behind the second one over, tucking the ends down between the two walls. Be careful to keep the ribbons flat. If you can see that the spokes are a bit long to stuff in well, trim them first.
