GPS Links / Waypoint Databases

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is an excellent tool used to travel from one location to another, or to determine where you are at any point of the earth. Many ham radio operators use GPS to determine their grid-square, for mountaintop operations, or for APRS. Below are links to very informative websites to satisfy your curiosity of GPS. You will also find links to many GPS waypoint databases, which have the longitude / latitude of many locations and points around your particular location.

	GPSinformation.net - General GPS information, product reviews, etc. This is another one of the best GPS sites hosted by Joe Mehaffey, Jack Yeazel, and Dale DePriest.
	NM Search and Rescue Resources - If you're looking for digitized maps of New Mexico, this is the place to go.
	GPS Visualizer - Plot your GPS tracks on a variety of maps including TopoZone maps and Google Earth.

	NGS Geographic Names Information System - A searchable database of almost 2 million physical and cultural geographic features in the United States.
	NGS Data Sheet By Area - Enter GPS coordinates, and learn of NGS survey markers/disks within a two mile radius of that point.
	International Waypoint Registry - Database of waypoints entered by GPS users.

	GeoCaching.com - Ever since Selective Availability (SA) was eliminated, many people have been hiding "stashes" that contain neat items in places around the world -- for you to find with your GPS if you're in the area. The only rule: If you take something from the stash (which you are allowed to), you must leave something. Have fun!
