Driver Reimbursement

Travel the micro climates with NMMC
At the meeting on April 13, 2011, the membership approved a new suggested driver compensation program which takes effect immediately. It is based on the historical precedent of our raising the suggested compensation to 12 cents/mile when gasoline was at $4.00/gallon. As passed, the plan eliminates any further discussion of driver compensation, since it is based on a continual, predetermined, adjustment program.
The plan will call for an increase/decrease of one cent/mile in compensation for every increase/decrease of approximately 33 cents/gallon above/below the historic mark of $4.00/gallon.
At $3.65/gallon, the suggested compensation is 11 cents/mile. If gas prices should reach $4.33/gallon, the suggested amount would be 13 cents/mile.
Also, there is a suggested additional contribution of 3 cents/mile on hikes that have indicated that high clearance vehicles are required.
Please come to the hikes prepared with a few small bills and some change if you plan to ride with other hikers.
NMMC encourages hikers to take the fewest possible number of vehicles on outings.
