BASIC GOOD FRIENDS CLASS - (8 week course)

Our Basic class is designed to give you a well-behaved member of your family. Your best friend will have good manners and will respond willingly to commands such as "sit," "down," "stay,” "come," and will have good manners on leash. Creative problem solving is an integral part of our basic classes. Basic classes are open to all dogs 4 months of age or older who have completed their shots.
Cost: $80
ADVANCED NOVICE CLASS - (6 week course)

This is a follow-up to the Basic Good Friends class for those handlers and dogs wanting to practice what they've learned and further their training. Basic commands will be re-inforced and new commands such as "drop" will be introduced. This is a good class to make sure you continue developing a good relationship with your dog.
Cost: $75
RALLY I & RALLY II (5 weeks for each course)

West Mesa offers a beginning Rally class for existing West Mesa students and their dogs showing and preparing to show in AKC and UKC Rally Novice. Students will build on their basic knowledge and learn to incorporate obedience commands into a Rally format as well as adding new skills unique to Rally competition. All 31 Rally Novice commands will be taught over two sections and students will have the opportunity to practice those commands in a true Rally run-through course.
Cost: $40 per section
CANINE GOOD CITIZEN CLASS - (6 week course)

West Mesa's Canine Good Citizen classes are designed to refine the obedience skills learned in the Basic course. These classes prepare you and your dog to earn the "Canine Good Citizen" certificate offered to all dogs by the American Kennel Club. This level of training introduces jumping and other advanced exercises. All graduates of this level of training definitely qualify as Canine Good Citizens, both at home and in public. The “CGC” test will be held the 6th week of the class.
ATTENTION COURSE - (6 week course)

West Mesa's Attention Classes are for graduates of the Canine Good Citizen Class. This class is an introduction to the hobby of obedience ring competition. This class teaches you the art of "working with your dog." Footwork and dog attention are stressed. The very basics of retrieving are taught at this level, as well as learning to work as a team with your best friend.

TUTOR PREP CLASS - (on going classes)

This class is for those that are finished with the Basic Friends, Advanced Novice and Rally classes and would still like to do more. Modelled along the lines as the Competition Tutor Classes, this class teaches and reinforces the basics learned in the Basic Friends and Advanced Novice classes. After taking the Tutor Prep class for a time, students have the opportunity to move up into Competition Tutor Classes.

COMPETITION TUTOR CLASSES - (on going classes)

West Mesa offers competition tutor classes for students wanting to continue their dog’s education. All levels of competition training, Novice through Utility, are taught and perfected in this program. Classes are on going and limited in size to offer extra attention to you and your dog. The enjoyment of working with your dog and happy attitudes are stressed. Our school supports the American Kennel Club (AKC), the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA), the United Kennel Club (UKC), and the American Mixed Breed Organization (AMBOR) obedience competition.

CANINE FREESTYLE - (6 week course)

Canine Freestyle is an exciting dog sport, where you can dance with your dog! Freestyle is a sport where training and teamwork are combined with music and creativity to develop choreographed routine.  This class provides a foundation for developing freestyle skills and developing a routine.  All aspects are included from training moves to selecting music. The classes emphasizes positive training techniques. Dogs should have completed a basic obedience class and be able to respond to basic commands. The primary requirement is to be ready for fun!  .
