Queen related locations in the UK.

This page has photos of a number of Queen related places in the UK. The photos were taken during April-May 1995 during my European vacation. Most of them are places that can be seen on the OIQFC "Queen Tour of London". Although I wasn't able to go on the tour, I was able to visit some of the places with the help of directions from Andy Young. Some of the picures are better than others, but I thought that for people who hadn't seen these places at all, a mediocre picture is better than nothing...

Hammersmith

This is the Hammersmith-Apollo theater, formerly the Hammersmith Odeon, at which Queen performed many times.

Kensington Tavern

This is Kensington Tavern, a tavern where the band used to meet frequently in the early days. It's not too far from the area in which they all lived at the time. This is the tavern where Freddie and Mary first met each other.

Albert Hall

This is the Royal Albert Hall at the campus of Imperial College. Smile performed there and more recently, Brian performed a concert there on his solo tour. This is also the auditorium in which Brian and Roger received their degrees from Imperial College.

Kennsington High Street Market

This is Kennsington High Street Market where Roger and Freddie used to sell clothing in a stall during the early 70's.

Queen International Fan Club

This is the inside of the OIQFC showing some of the neat things that are on display there. There are all sorts of older posters, several record awards that have been autographed and dedicated to Jacky and Val, photos, etc... One of the more amusing items was an autographed photo of Roger that was signed "Brian May Oops! Roger Taylor". The first signature wasn't a half-bad forgery of Brian's sig. Jacky mentioned at the convention that Roger frequently gets bored signing autographs and starts signing things other than his name to them.

This is Eilean Donan castle in western Scotland. This is where part of the movieHighlander was filmed.

This is a view at Imperial College.

Earl's Court

This is the top part of Earl's Court as seen from inside a nearby Underground station. I know you can't really tell much, but perhaps it's better than nothing...

Bosvigo school

This is Bosvigo Boy's School in Truro, where Roger attended school when he was young. The first band he was in played one of it's few gigs here.
