Eleina's mom asked; "who wrote all those words?"
October 17, 2009: About to begin my SIXTH SEASON of NaNoWriMo. Here's my 2009 Pre Nano Blog entry. Instead of gasping and sighing "another year", I'm embracing the fact that this page documents my history of participating in National Novel Writing Month. I dug up all the links to past NaNoWriMo blogging and listed them below. Further down are my journal entries as I made them each year just before or during the Wrimo writing. I had to remove links to the forums and widget/gadget counters, tho. The ones from past years don't work and forum links are reset each year. In November, I'll post the new word count widget for 2009.
My NanoWrimo History from Blog Entries:
September 9, 2007: The insight on my Labor Day Writing Retreat was the novel is a puzzle. Over the years I've created pieces. At times I've been able to click a piece here and there into place. I've always known when they fit -- I just haven't been able to force them into place. Now, that more and more pieces are linked, I can see the picture. I can't reveal too much here... just the fact that it's coming together -- finally! I believe I will finish this puzzle that is AKS!
October 29, 2006: GOOD GRIEF!! ANOTHER year has passed and I'm in NaNo mode again! That's why I'm calling my '06 NaNo effort "AKS, Redux." I shouldn't have any trouble writing time warps -- I'm perpetually in one! I do update my
ZEN BLOG regularly. And, the AKS site is somewhere below. I've abandoned last year's mystery novel and I'm doing a complete rewrite of AKS this year. I Really am! Here's the place to check and make sure I'm doing it: ZenWoman Profile and Word CountNovember 12,2005:
An entire year has passed since I updated this page. I'm in NaNo land again! There's no blog for "the Delphi Technique", my 2005 nanowrimo mystery novel, but I am posting updates on my Zen Blog . If you just want the home page for NaNoWriMo is on the Zen blog, along with a new progress meter.November 16, 04: Important Update: I'm in the midst of NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writers Month on-line. I just joined two days ago! In case you've clicked here looking for my novel, it's not here. I created a new
AKS blog just for my novel.November 12, 04:
"Harsh Mental Landscape". This is an image that came today when I "hushed." Hushing is a technique, like meditation, where you quiet your mind and wait for one distinct image to come through. I saw ruin where I had hoped I'd find a lush patch of wildflowers gently blowing in a summer breeze. It was cold. There were shards of twisted metal and broken glass. How sad. It's the Garden of Broken Dreams. I felt tears well in my eyes. Then a faint, but perceptable glimmer of sunlight. One thin ray shines down on a piece of glass and glistens, casting a rainbow of color that blocks the dismal landscape. Hope. I see that I can reclaim this wasteland. It's not too late. I can clean up both my side yard and this harsh mental landscape. Start now. Remove the debris. Let the earth and my soul breathe. Till the earth and my thoughts. Turn over new soil; dark, rich, furtile soil. Plant the seeds and let them sprout. I can have a garden of wild flowers and rekindle the spark that was AKS (my novel) or an entirely new piece of work. It's never too late for a seed to grow, if it has water, rich soil and some care. Beating myself up has only produced broken, jagged pieces of debris. I can clean it up.
The Gift of Peace This is the "peace page" I wrote for Christmas 2003. It's linked on my main page, also.

It's about a young journalist's psychic relationship with a dead science fiction author.

Please remember, this is just one woman's humble attempt to record the agony and ecstasy of writing.
I hope to blog (no, I WILL blog) frequently in 2002!
