Arrivals and settling into lodgings

6 p.m. Evening gathering at home of James and Susan Edmunds

Menu: Jambalaya by Steve Marcel, homemade cream cheese from Oreo (a miniature cow), with pepper jelly from the Pepper Geek, Salad by Diane and Susan, dessert by Callie, Kathy, Susan and Kay,

Followed by Power Point presentations with slides from all participants and "Leenhouts: The Lost Episodes."

Friday, Dec. 28, 20128

9 a.m. Breakfast at Victor's Cafeteria

10:15 a.m. Guided Boat tour at Lake Martin with Butch Guchereau. (canceled because of inclement weather)

1 p.m. Lunch at Cafe des Amis in Breaux Bridge. Here's the menu

Afternoon "free time" with goat farm option - Talk with Susan if you're interested in the goat farm trip

Activities at Steve and Kay's Home:

6 p.m. 'The Molers: Searching for the Mole People', documentary starring Steve Marcel and David Courville, written, directed and produced by James Edmunds

Menu: 'Smorgasbord of Holiday Delights' by Steve, Kay, James and Susan with a special addition of a not to be missed curry by Hermie Leenhouts, salad by Diane and Susan (and whoever else wishes to participate), classic Hester Chicken (the ultimate 60's comfort casserole), and thanks to Bob Hester (who has recreated at the request of all) 'holiday green stuff'. Desserts by Brown/Kilmer.

Followed by a Sing-a-long. For the spiritual portion of the program, we were led by Mike and JoAnne to sing #165, 121, 228, 233, 30, 85, from the Cokesbury Worship Hymnal , followed by a selection from the Beatles songbook. Steve Leen and Andy on guitars.

Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012

9 a.m. Delectable Breakfast Buffet by Opal and Harvey Broussard at the Broussard's home (and yes, there will be some of Opal's famous ice cream to put on pancakes)

10:15 a.m. Urban trees bike/car tour led by arborist, horticulturist and tree warrior Jim Foret. Departing from the Broussards (Bicycles will be shared among the riders.)

1 p.m. Off to Reaux Estate for a walk around the estate, sugar cane peeling and chewing, and of course, LUNCH!

Menu: Vegetable soup by Susan and James, hummus with crudites, do-it-yourself sandwiches on James' homemade bread with your choice of turkey, ham, cranberries, cheese, etc. Dessert by Kilmer Browns. Multiple free form activities for afternoon, including tracks for four square, school garden visit, gym exercise (talk with Susan if you're interested in a gym -$10 per person/ per visit or free garden visit) or, take a nap.

6 p.m.: Evening gathering at Steve and Kay's Menu: Appetizer: Theriot Grocery Store's top ranked boudin, entree: Chicken and sausage gumbo by James and Andy and others, Salad by Diane et. al, Dessert coordinated by Kilmer/Browns to include brownies by Kay

Evening's activities include math talent show by Diane, New Iberia mystery presented by Steve Leenhouts, followed by Harmoneers Concert.

Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012

9 a.m. Breakfast by JoAnn and Mike Marcel at home of Steve and Kay, followed by tearful departures, although we are not sure how soon everyone is actually leaving.

Many, many thanks to Jess and Marilyn for agreeing to be 'Beverage and Vessels' co-chairs; to the Kilmer/Browns, dessert coordinators; to Diane for being our Salad Queen (with the assistance of Andy, of course, who is also one of the chefs.) Kudos also to Hermie and Steve for the curry cooking and Mike and Joanne for our Sunday morning breakfast repast.
