Steve and Hermie

Hi everyone. Sorry that we were unable to make it, but financial and medical issues prevented us attending this time. We sincerely wish that we could have attended, and we wish all of you the very best. Our big event since we last met was moving from Jakarta to Davao, Philippines. Now that we've settled in, here is me pondering the ultimate retirement question, 'What now?'

This is a poster of an Angel Tree fund raising event being held this November in Jakarta. Even though she's departed the American Women's Association, Hermie is remembered there as a great example of volunteerism, so much so that they've honored her at this luncheon.

Hermie especially wanted James to see this!

We have rented a house out in the hills outside of Davao City. This is our road. It is a real change for us as we have lived in various Asian urban centers for years and years.

Here is our junk arriving via sea freight from Jakarta. We committed to reducing our total possessions to 10 cu meters. This was super difficult to achieve.

This is the house we are renting. It is very unlike other houses here - as if it was transported from Oklahoma and just dropped onto a lot. We were lucky to find it.

We are in the land of fresh fruits! Pineapple, mangos, bananas are plentiful. We have papaya actually growing in the back yard.

The tallest mountain in the Philippines, actually an extinct volcano, is within view from our back porch.

This week we are getting some great sunsets. This is our closing slide. Thanks for viewing.
