The box is square, 107" on a side, and 144" high. The surface is 1/4" Hardieback cement plate, each 36" high.
The idea is to make it look more like this:

Here are the measurements in inches). The iron fence stands 6" inside the stone bench, but can be removed if the design calls for this.
How to cover up this box so it does not look like a square box? And how do you make it look nice in daylight?

In this (under construction) model, I wrap the box in 8 'pillars' such that it becomes an 8-sided symmetric object, which mirrors the stone bench around the monument. The current box is 12' high, and the (square) box on top is 8' tall (standard studs). It is also wrapped to become 8-sided symmetrix.

If you place a post on top, you can drape lights down from the top all around to get the desired effect at night.

Paint the while thing white, with some panels light green so that it doesn't look heavy, and paint red snowflakes here and there.

OK, these boxes still look massive. Here is a simpler idea: Just panels, 4 per side, and cut such that the slanted sides fall on the surface of a cone, so that the profile looks the same viewed from any direction. The panels can have cutouts, we can ask our artist friends.

Do something similar on the second level. Again drape with strings of light from the top.
