| In this variant we place an island on Cerrillos as in variant (2), and in addition make the exiting traffic right-turn-only, as in the drawing below. In this variant, there is no more contention for the center lane. Flows of incoming and outgoing traffic no longer cross at any point, and traffic backing up in one spot will not cause traffic elsewhere to become blocked. As in variant 3, a fraction of the cars exiting will attempt to make a U-turn before they reach the Guadelupe stoplight. |
