Night Chant is a rare, homozygous, true breeding tobiano pinto, and is siring beautiful foals which are consistently several inches shorter than their dams. Paintbrush Miniatures guarantees that all foals out of Night Chant will be pintos. Night Chant is black and white and also has a multiple National Champion background! His sire is the great XCalibers Little Navajo, Multiple National Champion in halter, and his dam is the 1997 Western Regional Champion Produce of Dam winner and multiple blue ribbon winner, R&Ds Sunsets PJ. Night Chants grandsire is the famous Paul Bunyon.

Night Chant foals have been halter Champions, both in Futurities and in their regular halter classes, and Paintbrush Navajo Night Star, (black and white colt) owned by Joyce and Steve Petersen, is the 1997 Western Regional Reserve Champion Yearling Stallion 28 and Under!

Paintbrush Night of the Snow Moon (black and white mare 30.5" at 3 years) is a multiple Futurity and Multiple Grand and Reserve Grand Champion at Halter

Our Paintbrush breeding program has been based on combining the blood of two wonderful stallions (Paintbrush Navajo Night Chant & The Legendary Cowboy Del) Both have ideal conformation, beautiful heads, unique color, outstanding movement and intelligence; and each has sired Multi Champion and Futurity Champion offspring.

If you are interested in Color genetics, please check this site: Horse Genetics from the University of California at Davis, including Color Coat Genetics by Dr. Ann T. Bowling, PhD, Veterinary Genetics Laboratory, School of Veterinary Medicine

Night Chant is a pure breeding homozygous pinto. He was tested at the above lab by Dr. Bowling. (In consideration of Dr. Bowling's time, we include a note of warning: If your horse has ever produced a solid color foal, then Dr. Bowling will not test your horse. He or she cannot be homozygous. Your horse must have a 100 percent color producing record, and must be out of two pinto parents before you even consider the test.)
