Compnay C, 41st Illinois Volunteer Infantry until 20 August 1864 when he was
mustered out as a sergeant. He was at the following battles: Fort Henry,
Fort Donelson, Shiloh, Corinth, Hatchie, Coldwater, Vicksburg and 15
engagements on the Red River expediton.
