geode 11k jpeg

"Tis the tale of a geode
very rare we are told
and how I found this fine little bowl
with the neat rounded hole

On a mesa high in front of me
lay an earth-formed dish
When I stopped to lift it
there came a noise making swish

From a crystal bowl
there had fallen at my feet
a ball shaped mineral
klike doughnuts you eat

Now behold a little geode
all wreathed in spotlight
cast in memory of an
uncommon beauty and birthright
